J&J Vision Releases Daily Disposable Multifocal Toric Contact Lens

The AcuVue Oasys Max 1-day multifocal for astigmatism is for people with both astigmatism and presbyopia.

Johnson & Johnson has launched the AcuVue Oasys Max 1-day multifocal for astigmatism. According to the company, it’s the first and only daily disposable contact lens for people with both astigmatism and presbyopia.

The lens was built with the combination of four proprietary technologies to enable comfort and visual results:

  • Blink Stabilized helps the lens stay put so vision isn’t distorted or blurry when the wearer blinks or moves their head.
  • Pupil Optimized helps meet presbyopic vision needs even as wearers age and vision continues to change.
  • TearStable technology keeps the lens hydrated for end of day comfort.
  • The OptiBlue light filter offers 60% blue-violet light filtering.

J&J studies showed 95% of people wearing AcuVue Oasys Max 1-day multifocal for astigmatism lenses reported vision was clear during daily activities, and 87% saw clearly while driving at night. Further, 92% of wearers said their eyes felt comfortable throughout the whole day.

“Building on our legacy of firsts, we are thrilled to launch ACUVUE OASYS MAX 1-Day MULTIFOCAL for ASTIGMATISM,” said Peter Menziuso, Company Group Chairman, Vision at Johnson & Johnson. “ACUVUE is the world’s leading contact lens brand and with these new products, we now have the first and only complete family of daily-disposable contact lenses.#1 Clear sight empowers people to live their best lives, and we believe everyone should have the opportunity to achieve it. Last week, the company rolled out its Tecnis Odyssey intraocular lens (IOL) in Europe, the Middle East, and Canada.
